Chelsea wel naar Israel, maar zonder sponsor
LONDON, Oct 3 (Reuters) - England's Chelsea will travel to Israel for a UEFA Cup game against Hapoel Tel Aviv later this month but will blank out their sponsor's logo on the front of their shirts, British newspapers reported on Wednesday. Chelsea, who are sponsored by Dubai-based airline Emirates, play the Israelis in a second-round first-leg tie on October 18."We feel it could be insensitive, so we have, as a club decided to take the 'Fly Emirates' logo off the players' shirts for the one match only," Hutchinson was quoting as saying in The Guardian newspaper. "Emirates have said they would go along with whatever we decide. We understand the sensitivity and fully support Chelsea's decision to remove our sponsorship from players' shirts for this match," the statement said. The London club will revert to their normal strip for the return leg on November 1.
